burritos & beer : winter weekend

The plan on this Saturday was to visit Calumet (a camera store on Columbus Blvd.) in the morning to rent a 10-22mm for the day—the store is good, but only offered a 14mm prime which has a replacement cost of $2,400.00 (retail value), and despite the tempting $50.00 rental fee, I worried about breaking it!! so decided against it.   I then picked up Dave and we headed downtown to Marathon Grill on 10th street only to discover this location CLOSED. The temperature was around 29 degrees, so we decided to go anywhere, as long as it was nearby, which lead us to a Burrito joint. Greeted by a woman who had little command of the English language, I was certain we picked a good place (authentic mexican). I was right— the food was great.  Just around the corner from the Burrito place were four self proclaimed “Hoboz” who accepted a few bucks for a few photos—they seemed young, cold, and strung out (I wanted to give them more money…).  We then attempted a few “levitation” photos on our way back to the hood, but I had the drive mode set to SLOW multiple exposures instead of High speed—oh well, I’m still learning.  After a few more semi-successful attempts at the foot of the Eastern State Penitentiary, it was time to warm up with a few Deliriums at London Grill. Good day.
